We recently announced a contest for a $50 Keg gift certificate, in return for providing feedback on the new look of the Critical Hire website.
We got lots of great responses and are very grateful to everyone who took the time to send us their comments.
The winner of our random draw was Neil B.
Neil’s much appreciated and very thorough feedback was very positive, as was most of the feedback that we received. We also garnered some great constructive criticism as well.
here are some highlights from Neil’s email:
I would give 8 out of 10. The cut to your 3/4 profile is very effective. I loved the animation and passion you showed and the approach is very empathetic, with and to, both sides of the job market. The term you use for this : “bridge” is perfect.
And in regards to the video:
I find it a little sad and a sign of the times, that some declared the piece to be overly long. I do not agree and my wife and I watched several times just now. I am using it as an example to help me polish up my own pitch in general.
His comments go on to touch on the now infamous “James’ mouth twitch”, and include a hilarious comparison to the Stephen Harper smile debacle from a few years ago. (Well OK, hilarious to the rest of us here at Critical Hire, perhaps not to James.)
Thanks for the feedback Neil and no doubt you will be taking your wife to The Keg (least you could do for making her watch our video several times!)
Other interesting feedback we received included:
1. Adding an RSS feed to both our job and blog posts which now has been implemented
2. Adding a timebar to the video. We are working on it
3. Finally one brave soul suggested we stop worrying about our website and finally get him a job!
